Packing the Bike

This is the first time that I am flying with a bike, so I’m not experienced packing a bike for a flight. Based on what my more experienced friends said, I should request a used bike box from a bike store, remove the wheels, pedals, seat and handlebar and then wrap everything with padding and clothing. So that is what I did.

at the airport I noticed someone with another strategy.

I asked the traveller why they chose that method. He said that the idea is that the airport workers will see that it is something fragile and will treat it gentler. I guess he trusts the kindness of people more than I do.

Arrival to Israel

When I landed I got my box, and to my relief, the bike was fine. I assembled it and biked out of the airport. I then headed to the hospital to see my few hours old nephew.

Conclusion

This is the last post for this trip. However, I am sure that I will go on more interesting trips in the future. For now, I will enjoy my new bike and nephew for a while before going on my next trip.
